For the past 16 months, Rally Point Retreat has had an immeasurably positive impact on the health and well-being of not only our Dad, but our entire family.
Words will surely fall short to describe the incredible, healing work being done by Bob and Johan Grundy. Our father, a 20-year veteran of the RCMP, made his way to Rally Point after the passing of his service dog, Spencer. In Sable River he found a second home, a place to reconnect with nature and himself.
Where the health care system is showing its cracks, places like Rally Point, created and maintained by Bob and Johan (heroes themselves), are essential community supports.
If the federal or provincial government are looking for a model from which to build sustainable long-term recovery first responders with PTSD, they can stop looking. It's in Sable River at Rally Point.
With love, respect, and gratitude.
